Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

What we stand for.

Allied is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives are valued and everyone can contribute, grow their careers, and thrive. We believe diversity goes beyond ethnicity and gender. It includes things that are visible and those that are not - a person's age, veteran status, ability, neurodiversity, sexual orientation, gender identity, and so much more. These differences help create a more dynamic and innovative workplace. We embrace them all.

Allied is an equal opportunity employer.

Here's how we're taking action.

Building the foundation:

  • Formed Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Council with representatives from across the company and created regional committees to reflect local needs.
  • Developed ongoing audit of the full recruitment life cycle.
  • Expanded demographic data collection and reporting in line with applicable regulations, measuring progress on an ongoing basis.
  • Built salary benchmarking and reporting to help clients support pay equity and transparency.

Attracting and recruiting talent:

  • Expanded posting of open jobs to affinity career sites and community organizations.
  • Increased recruiting presence at colleges, universities, and diverse professional organizations across Canada.
  • Launched Diversity+, a comprehensive diversity recruiting solution for clients. Learn more at our Diversity Hiring page.
  • Instituted recruiting best practices, including gender-neutral job descriptions, pay transparency, anonymized resumes, and structured interview strategies.

Empowering and developing employees:

  • Invested in our employees' growth through training programs on allyship, inclusiveness, mitigating bias, and ethics.
  • Developed company-wide education materials, training, and discussions around underrepresented groups, racial injustice, and its historical significance.
  • Hosted speakers series as well as book and film clubs centered on diversity and inclusion themes, sparking insightful conversations among colleagues.

Fostering a culture of belonging:

  • Formed nine active Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in addition to peer groups and clubs that support employees, as well as their allies, across a wide range of identities and life stages.
  • Launched company-wide Allyship ERG to build allies, support, and community for all employees.
  • Shared talent art from creators of color or that celebrated diversity and inclusion across our social media platforms company-wide.

Community engagement and impact:

  • Supported social justice and humanitarian organizations through donations and volunteer efforts.
  • Partnered with nonprofits to bring creative ideas to life.
  • Created policies that support civic participation and inclusive workplace practices.
  • Hosted events focused on inclusive design, pay equity, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
